The past week or so, I've had to deal some severely stupid irl drama-induced stress, so to distract myself from
obsessing over the issue, I delved into doodling and (surprisingly) schoolwork. Now that things have seemed to
have worked out, I'm back in a slump. xD

There are four (so far) philosophies that live by, and recently I came up the idea with giving each of them
physical forms. These are just sketches and unfinalized concepts.

I call 'em Aspect Monsters 'cause they're aspects of my life. |D

1. Euphoria
"Emotions are just chemical signals in the brain. And if this euphoria is a place, why does it matter how I got here?"

Age: The newest Aspect of the bunch; born with my recent acquaintance with pot, around January '08.

Description: He should have open skulls, exposed brains appearance. His five humanoid faces depict happiness, sadness, anger, indifference, and fear, and together create an amorphous fleshy blob of expressions that constantly shift between heads. Volts of electricity occasionally flicker across the brains. Marijuana, mushrooms, and salvia grow out from between the "ribcage". He has a pair of muscular hind legs that allow him to barrel towards his opponents while emitting terrible noises such as hysterical laughter, agonizing screams, mournful sobs, and furious roars. However, if his opponent stands his ground, he will most likely turn tail and flee.

Symbolism: Euphoria represents my stance on drugs, which is that they can certainly be used wisely and with good intention. But I am not mature or knowledgeable enough to inflict my view on others, which is why I would prefer to withdraw than to risk serious conflict.

2. Pessimism
"Hope, but never expect."

Age: A pretty old Aspect. Been with me throughout much of my adolescent life.

Description: Pessimism has a blunt, somewhat canine-reminiscent face equipped with a huge pair of mandibles, and a set of 16 beady eyes. His furred neck connects to the hairy abdomen of a spider, which sports four rigid, spider-like legs. He always walks on three legs, with one claw holding a glass of liquid, perpetually half-empty. Spiked armor and weapons hang from his body and legs. Dandelions grow from the back of his neck, and small plant sprouts grow from his legs. He has the ability to carry an illusion on his back, projected between the joints of his legs; it always depicts a colorful, cheerful scene. Although vividly colored, the image is never opaque; one can clearly see that it is a mirage.

Symbolism: Sixteen eyes lets me always see the good in people, but I can never trust people because I'm afraid they'll hurt me. I can be called cynical, but I enjoy dreaming of idealism as much as the next person. Pessimism prevents me from feeling disappointment and keeps me secure in a sad, lonely shell. The dandelion seeds and sprouts represent the potential of a positive result in every situation, but whether or not they fully bloom is always in question.

3. Time
"Time educates, punishes, and heals everything."

Age: The strongest Aspect. Not as old as Pessimism, but just as, or even more influential on my life.

Description: Time is a face of a clock wearing a spiked halo. His body seems to consist of only a pendulum that sways precisely side to side despite the direction in which he float, and a bunch of gears that turn whichever way they want. He wears a large, flowing coat decorated in crosses. A lantern dangles from each arm, perpetually lit. Spikes protrude from both shoulders. An eerie, unholy glow engulfs his head. He can take on any size, but usually prefers looming just above human height.

Symbolism: If something in this world has never let me down, it's Time. Time is the most reliable phenomenon, though it may not always seem efficient. Time is my warmth and guiding light; he has healed me countless times, taught me priceless lessons, and dulled wounds I never thought would close. Time is also cruel and merciless; he does not
speak, does not negotiate, does not factor human vulnerability into his executions.

4. Transcendence
"Don't let it bother you."

Age: A bit older than Euphoria. An Aspect I adore more than the others, yet have not been able to develop as well.

Description: Transcendence takes the form of a clawed doe with a massive and bizarre headpiece. His antler consists of two small grey orbs, and two white larger orbs with some liquidy black substance constantly writhing out from them. Despite its disproportionate size, the thing doesn't seem to weigh very much. His tranquil face is interrupted by a pair of startling red eyes, though they remain void of malice. He possesses one black, feathered wing, and one white bat wing.

Description: My personality is best described as anything like laid-back, mellow, chill, etc, and that's thanks to Transcendence, who found me about a year ago. I don't mean transcendence in a condescending, elitist way, but more of a relaxed, carefree lifestyle that appeals to me very much. I've found that in actuality, very few things really matter in life in the long run, so there's no point in wasting health to stress over issues that Time will eventually take care of. This isn't to say I can just ignore all of my problems--as demonstrated by my reason plight with my best friend, Transcendence becomes difficult to employ when matters are too personal.

Pessimism is really, really neat.

Time, though, is definitely my favorite. It's a great concept that you managed to pull into fruition perfectly.

"That is one fantastic hat orgy."
Out of all these, Euphoria is undoubtedly my favorite. Such a horrifying, nightmarish creature; it looks like you nabbed it right out of a survival horror game! It's amazing what you can come up with when your mind's being manipulated.

These are very interesting, though. These "Aspect Monsters" are something we all need... like guides and curses they follow us through life, teaching us through both kindness and malice. I've yet to find my "aspects", but I'm more than sure that one of them is Luck. Hah. I hope that's what you were getting at, because it's very similar to my own freakish beliefs. Haha!

I love the designs that you put into each of them. In a sense they all have their own little charm or quirk, and that's what a good character/being should have. Pessimism is especially symbolic... I love that idea of the projected mirage. :)
mmm I must say, you have gorgeous ideas and gorgeous concepts~

I love how they all mean something to you in some way or another
i like the way you created these beings through your conept of life
